The lady 6th from the left was my grandmother’s sister Bertha Sansom, daughter of the one time owner of Sansoms Castings on Union St. that was later Stokes Castings. She was a quiet pleasant lady who was a life long churchgoer and spinster, who worked at the Shoe Co. for years and ended her days in the alms houses opposite Lucas Garage on Nottingham Road.
