Mansfield Colliery Nursing Cadets 1957/8

This photo was recently sent to the Heritage Group by Pam Jones who named most of the people. We also had another copy in our files where someone else had named people, I have added these into Pams information using italics. Pauline M

Once a year the nursing cadets went to camp for a weekend. This is taken at Rhyl Derbyshire Miners Camp,  at a guess the year is 1957/8.

I can name quite a few of the girls . Sister Hodgkinson is sat in the middle and she ran the cadets, She was theatre sister at Ransom Hospital until she retired. A lot of the girls went into nursing when they school, she influenced many people including me.
