This is the Broomhill football team taken at the Mansfield Town (stags) ground in 1955.
They represented Mansfield schools against Worksop schools. The team from left to right. Back row Mervin Starkey-Tony Bircumshaw-John Shelton-Keith Vardy-Roger Brown-David Jackson-Roger Storey-Richard Betts-Jack Amett-Keith Williams-and his Brother John Williams. I have been told that they won the march. Tony Bircumshaw played professional football for Notts County and Hartlepool and is the youngest player to play for Notts county in league match.
