It is Stockwell Gate, and the pub in the middle of the old houses was the old King and Miller.
As a child I lived near the Red Lion, bottom left of the picture, and some of my parents relatives lived in the old houses.
It is Sutton Road. facing the high stone wall surrounding the old Work House. A little higher than the Shoe Co.
I believe the lower photo is showing the King and Miller pub on Stockwell gate.
J Bowers showroom was built on this site and now is an Asda store.
Stockwell Court flats and the former Lime Kiln place (Now demolished) is/was resident here nowadays I believe, between Herbert St and Spencer St.
It’s the top end of Stockwell Gate as viewed between Spencer Street and Herbert Street. The photo was taken in 1962 by Bill Purdy a member of the OMS at that time.
