In July 1968 St Alban’s Church Forest Town suffered a devastating fire
The Church was unusable for twelve months, and all services were held in new the Church Hall. A lot of love, hard work, gifts and fund raising helped to restore the church. The Rehallowing of the church by the Bishop and Clergy took place on the 20th May 1969.
This photograph taken by ‘Lyle’ Photographer of Handley Arcade Mansfield, shows the first baptism to take place in the church after the re-hallowing. Rev W.S. Beasley is the minister but who was the baby? and who are the lady and the altar boy?
