  • Your beliefs are correct Liz.  It is Titchfield Park. The far stone wall in the distance separates the Cattle Market from the park. The smaller stone wall runs along Nottingham Road. The opening entrance to the Band Stand is in the same position as I knew it to be, although the railings around the Band Stand  had been removed. Although not in the picture, the river Maun meanders across the picture in front of the large trees, which many had been removed by the 40’s. I cannot make up my mind whether it is the old Seesaw, or the bridge over the river ,on the right of the picture, which has always been there.

  • We believe this is Titchfield Park. We have this image and a few others of the park in our XplorActive Gallery at the Museum.
