The Nottinghamshire Heritage Awards showcase and celebrate the work of heritage organisations of all types and sizes in Nottinghamshire and the staff and volunteers that run them. They are organised by the Nottinghamshire Heritage Forum with sponsorship provided by NottinghamTrentUniversity.

Support in kind is being provided by: the University of Nottingham’s Lakeside Arts Centre, which hosted  the awards ceremony; Culture Syndicates (a consortium of recent graduates from Nottingham Trent University’s Heritage Management Course); and Museum Development East Midlands (funded through Arts Council England’s Renaissance programme).

The awards were judged by an independent panel from the fields of heritage, academia, media and tourism.

Speaking on behalf of the judging panel,

Dr Kevin Gould, Principal Lecturer in Late Medieval and Early Modern History at  NottinghamTrentUniversity, said: “The awards entries really reflect the excellence in Nottinghamshire’s heritage and the great work that goes into caring for it and enabling people to enjoy it. Choosing the winners from such a strong field has been an extremely difficult task.”
