On the subject of pit stretchers, when travelling across Forest Town crossroads, past the sports ground on your left hand side-you come to the allotments, then a side road which takes you into the Avenues. Across from which is a pumping station. The allotment fence on the road side, near to the old yellow NCB sign regarding trespassers, was a fence, made more or less from old stretcher frames, it used to support the old chain link fencing. These have recently been removed and the wire pushed back up somehow, but I wonder if anyone else besides me noticed this feature, and realised what these odd, canvas denuded items were supporting the fence here?.
