  • I went to Rosemary Infants from 1952 to 1954 and Seniors from 1958 to 1962, Broomhill Juniors inbetween. My dad who was born in 1908 and lived in Harrington Street went to Rosemary so he could have been taught by the teacher in the in the photograph.

  • ELSIE AND JESSIE GREEN  - I enjoyed seeing the 1910 school photograph on your excellent website. Both my mother and her sister taught at Rosemary Street in the 1920s and I wonder if the school logs of that period are still extant. Mother often spoke of walking to school from Kirkby during the 1926 strike! And, as a small child, I certainly remember visiting the school on several occasions. Sadly my Aunt Jessie, who taught in the Infants School, died young after a long illness but both schools sent floral tributes to her funeral in 1925. Any information you may be able to offer will be much appreciated. With many thanks Norma Neal

  • It is good to have to two of the early school teachers at this school named. We suggest contacting the Nottinghamshire Archives to see if the Log Books have been deposited there http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/archives. Also try Mansfield Local Studies Library, to see if they have any information on the school.
