Does anybody know what years this shop traded? I think they were a tailors shop. I have just found a old coat hanger with the business name printed on it, and it piqued my interest. Thanks. Martin.

Percy Clegg was a tailor’s shop at 11 Market street. The last shop (very small) below where Bird’s butchers was. The shop when I knew it in the 60’s was Johnson’s discount housewares.
Percy Clegg lived on Bishop street. He died in 1915.

Thanks for your reply. So the address of 17 Market Street, as on the hanger, is/ maybe an earlier premises than number 11. Also, it seems a fairly lowly address, for a person who owns a tailors shop to live at, or did he fall on hard times in his latter years. I would love to know more, if anyone has some more info. Thanks again.
