  • I had a gearbox repair business in Rock Court off Bridge Street and the flood put me out of work for a time. in my workshop there was three feet of water. Fred Harper (the gearbox man), Rainworth gear supplies.

  • What caused the rain / water to build up, was it just due to the volume of rain where the drainage systems couldn’t cope due to blockage? Did the Maun burst its banks? How long before the town got back to ‘normal’? I was away from Mansfield on this date. The shops and cars bring back memories. Excellent pictures!
